Severe Tropical Cyclone Marcia is today making landfall in northern Queensland – and is expected to bring severe gales and flooding rains over the next day or two.

Marcia will move out into the Tasman next week and as an ex-cyclone it will fall apart around Fiordland at the end of next week.

Meanwhile – conditions look good for the Black Caps in Wellington tonight.
