Upper North Island

Cloudy periods with southwesterly winds, chance of the odd shower at times otherwise dry. The Bay Of Plenty will have longer sunny areas especially in the east.

Lower North Island

Cloud in the west with the chance of a light shower or two otherwise dry, westerly winds. Mostly sunny along the east coast with light winds. Mostly sunny about Wellington with light winds tending southerly this afternoon.

Upper South Island

High cloud in the east this morning and about Nelson, a few spots of rain possible about Canterbury. Sunny areas increase this afternoon with light winds. Mostly cloudy on the West Coast with a few showers about, mainly this afternoon.

Lower South Island

Morning showers clear in the west then expect sunny areas this afternoon, winds from the west. Morning high cloud in the east clears away to mostly sunny weather, winds generally fairly light.
