High pressure is just to our north west this weekend – and stormy winds are just to our south.
It places New Zealand in the “squash zone” – or at least, the squash zone is skirting past us.
It means very windy weather over the Southern Ocean will surge up in the South Island and lower North Island at times this weekend.
However, many areas will be mostly dry – and temperatures will be average, to even slightly above average in the east and north east of both islands.
