NEW POLL: Are you happy with these ‘Summer’ temperatures?

> From the WeatherWatch archives

With Summer off to a somewhat underwhelming start for most of the country, we’ve had a lot of puzzled kiwis contacting us to ask exactly when they can expect more summer-y temperatures.

Wind, rain and stormy conditions have characterised December for some places – with a series of spring-like weather patterns predominating over New Zealand – meaning further unsettled weather.

Winter overstayed its welcome for around 6 weeks earlier this year, and spring seems to be doing the same, or similar thing.

So we wanted to know – how many of our readers are happy with the current temperatures? Are you sick and tired of the rough weather and can’t wait to get to the beach, or is this par for the course now?

Let us know in our poll, and tell us where you’re from in the comments below – we will publish the results at the end of the week.

I am glad the weather is crappy for the beginning of the School Holidays, kids get way too much time off now it’s crazy. I hope it keeps raining for the entire School Holidays and all the screaming annoying kids have to stay inside and have a bad time and annoy their parents for 3 months.

I think the east coast of both islands and the central of the south have done okay.  Auckland no, but it never gets warm there until January.  Hot and dry in the MacKenzie county the last could of days.  Summer is good here!
