An easing westerly quarter airflow over the country today, the weather will be fairly tame. Morning showers clear in western parts of the North Island this morning south of the Waikato although there could be a few move through in the afternoon. The South Island sees isolated showers possibly form anywhere from Southland through Canterbury this afternoon.

Auckland & Northland
Early sunny areas however high cloud then starts increasing, northwesterly winds ease then tend light southeasterly later in the evening. Rain moves into northeatern parts of Northland overnight.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Mostly sunny about the Bay Of Plenty, a few morning showers about the Waikato and Central North Island clear then mainly fine. High cloud increases from morning for all. Winds tend light southeasterly later in the evening.
Highs: 16-19

Eastern North Island
Sunny with northwesterly breezes, easing afternoon. High cloud increases from afternoon. Light southerlies develop overnight.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island
Morning showers clear then expect sunny and cloudy spells, a few further showers may move through late afternoon and evening. Northwesterly winds ease. Evening onwards high cloud starts to increase.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington
Early showers clear then expect cloudy spells with breezy northerlies, easing in the afternoon. High cloud thickens overnight.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny after any morning cloud clears, light winds. Overnight winds tend southeast with increasing cloud.
Highs: 18-19

Canterbury
Cloudy at first with the chance of some early rain, sunny spells then break through by late morning with light winds. Light southerly quarter winds from afternoon, a few isolated showers develop inland during the afternoon for a time. Drizzle patches possible for most by evening then clearing overnight.
Highs: 16-17

West Coast
Morning showers clear then afternoon sunny spells develop, light west to southwest breezes.
Highs: 15-16

Coastal Otago
Morning cloud gradually breaks with sunny spells developing, light winds. Southwesterlies spring up around midday however bringing some cloud and a few showers that then clear in the evening.
High: 14-15

Central Otago
Sunny spells develop this morning with light winds, early afternoon however winds tend light southerly bringing a few showers which then clear in the evening.
Highs: 15-16

Southland
Mostly cloudy with westerly winds in the morning, winds tend more southwest around midday with a few showers which then clear in the evening.
High: 13
