WeatherWatch.co.nz has received these exclusive photos of the damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Vania.
The storm was actually fairly weak when it did this damage – it continues to strengthen and will pose a serious threat to New Caledonia on Friday.
Tropical Cyclone Vania has the potential to bring very stormy conditions to New Zealand next week, sometime between Tuesday and Thursday predicts WeatherWatch.co.nz.

Yeah it’s following a track eerily similar to Cyclone Drena back in 1997. But every cyclone has a very different personality. Will be interesting to see what the models come up with in the coming days.

WOW! And then it was only a category 1? Hope it doesn’t hit as like that!

Was only a tropical storm when it hit Vanuatu, but was upgraded to a Cat1 cyclone. Now it’s Cat 2 as it moves towards New Caledonia.
