Weekend Newsfeed: Aurora possible again tonight for some, High pressure moves in by Monday (+6 Maps)

Colder airflows will fade this weekend but the nights will still be colder due to lighter winds and high pressure moving in from the west (from near Tasmania).

The high pressure zone that’s been affecting NZ’s weather for almost two weeks now will finally cross over the country this coming Monday.

Most places are dry and settled this weekend – but there will be a few showers coming in with the high for western areas, along with cloudy weather at times too, mainly on Sunday evening and into Monday.

  • Showers ease for those places that have them.
  • Frosts are still possible this weekend in both main islands.
